VICHAAR

This is a technical paper presentation contest. It consists of three parts Instrumentation & Control, Electronics and Computers. Participants are required to submit abstracts of their papers in a technical field. These abstracts are not to exceed 1000 words and will form the sole basis for the finalization of participants. Hence adequate importance should be attached to the abstract such that it presents a perspicuous outline of the main paper. The participants are required to send their main technical papers only after receiving intimation to the effect of selection of their papers. Those selected for the finals will have to present their paper before a panel of judges. The final winners will be chosen according to the paper content and the presentation. This competition will consist of 3 sessions.

Papers are invited in the following categories.

SESSION I : COMPUTER ENGINEERING

SESSION II : INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROLS ENGINEERING

SESSION III : ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

PRIZES FOR EACH SESSION

1st Prize - Rs. 2,000/- 2nd Prize - Rs. 1,000/-

FORMAT FOR THE PAPER TITLE PAGE :

This should provide the title the name(s) of the author(s) name of the institute / university the category of the paper MAIN TEXT : This paper should include a well structured, clear and concise presentation of the subject matter. The body of the paper should be suitably numbered to facilitate case of reference.

FIGURES AND TABLES :

These should be neat and tidy, numbered, captioned and contained within the text at the appropriate places.

REFERENCES :

All the references should be suitably numbered and listed in the bibliography at the end of the paper. APPENDICES :

Detailed proofs, development of equations etc. if any should be given in the appendices, with reference to the main text. Participants may note that lengthy proofs are to be avoided in the main body of the paper.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The number of authors for one paper is limited to 3. The material should be accompanied by a bonafide certificate of a senior faculty member and must include an address for communication with both author(s) and attesting authority. Paper should be typewritten on one side only with double space typing on A4 size paper and should not exceed 20 pages. (Including appendices and tables). The abstract is to be limited to 1000 words. Participants will be provided with free lodging, boarding and mess facilities. One way II Class railway fare will be reimbursed on production of tickets. Three copies of the abstract should be sent to the mailing address before 5th March, 1998 . All papers received after the deadline will not be considered.
